MCT oil & low carbs high protein diets- epilepsy

Sharing incase you want to try.
My neurologist suggested Dr Busby’s MCT oil. I get it on Amazon. Only been about 3-wks.
Also been researching nutrition & how it plays a role re: blood sugars. Been reading “dogileptic” online. Says our dogs should eat low carb high protein food.
Realized one of two I’ve been feeding is 40% carbs…it’s out. Web says here’s how you measure for this. Add up the following then subtract from 100.
Crude protein
Crude fat
Crude fiber
Moisture
Ash if listed

I’m going to try this. Can’t hurt.

Pet sitter idiopathic epilepsy dog

Can anyone in the Bay Area California recommend a pet sitter with seizure or medical experience? One that will give meds & preferably sit at our house?

Epilepsy

I’m new to this group & want to say how very sorry I am to all who have lost pets recently.
I’m tearing up & need to sign out for a bit.

Some history first, we have a 4yr old (Boston) with seizures. Started at 2.5yrs. Currently on pheno, levetiracetam, & more recently Zonisamide. Now neurologist asking if we would consider a 4th. Nope! Only if Zonisamide goes away & new one (bromide?) gets added. Zonisamide doesn’t help anyway. We did do a brain scan & it came back inclusive so epilepsy is what was determined. He takes pills 4x a day. We rarely go anywhere together so he always has eyes on him…Other than camping which of course we take him. And we have stairs everywhere to block off. He has episodes about every 2-3 weeks. Longest being 1-1/2 minutes. If more than 2 in 24 hrs he gets clorazepate. He has focals & once a fly catching syndrome one…hallucination. We’re pretty good at knowing when one is coming.

Ok bye for now. Again sorry to everyone. I think you all made the right decisions. One I know is in our future to make too.
