Qiuyuan/Lynae/Zezhi full Quickswap
Another improvised team. This time, Qiuyuan's swap combos are much more noticeable 😬

What happens when you try playing the game's most complex characters together 😴
I feel like Lucilla isn't that popular in the community. Is that actually true?
>
I can't wait for Qiuyuan to return to the main story. We already know he's connected to Geshulin and Scar, so we're bound to run into him sooner or later. I just hope we'll finally get his full backstory, because right now we only have a vague idea of who he is. Since we're briefly returning to Jinzhou, I wonder if Jinhsi will mention him!
There's no way you're gonna convince me that's not his child 😬
The more Fusion characters there are, the more meta Lupa becomes🤤😋
Before Jingran arrives, I'd like to discuss the sales potential of male characters and analyze why they've flopped so far. In my opinion, for a character to sell really well, there are five criteria:
Design
Gameplay/animations
Meta relevance
Banner placement
Story relevance
From what I've observed, all of Wuthering Waves' popular characters check these boxes. Let's take a recent example: Hiyuki.
Hiyuki had a 10/10 design, she was a main DPS with incredible gameplay and insane animations. Meta-wise, she wasn't at the top initially, but everyone knew she would get future teammates. In the story, she played a major role in the plot, which made her one of the best-selling characters in Wuthering Waves.
We can also look at Aemeath. She checked all of these criteria and was clearly treated as a main push. Just like Hiyuki, she benefited from Kuro's marketing, with her animations being showcased very early.
Now let's look at female characters that didn't check every box: Galbrena and Sigrika.
Galbrena had almost everything compared to Sigrika, but her gameplay and the lack of hype worked against her. The wave of disappointment after her gameplay reveal was massive, which resulted in terrible sales.
As for Sigrika, just like Galbrena, both the hype and gameplay were disappointing, but on top of that, her design didn't appeal to many people. Right after her patch came Hiyuki and Denia, two highly anticipated characters. Despite having some relevance in the story, she ended up performing horribly in terms of sales.
Now that we've established the successes and failures of female characters, let's talk about the male ones.
At launch, Jiyan had some buzz, but much less than Calcharo. Jiyan had a good design, was meta, and had story relevance, but Yinlin was much more hyped thanks to her synergy with Calcharo. In the end, he sold less than Yinlin.
I won't include Xiangli Yao since he was free.
Brant struggled because he came after Phoebe, a character that could both buff and deal damage. Meta-wise, Brant wasn't an important pick, his design wasn't particularly well received, his story was forgettable, and right after him came Cantarella. Another failure.
Qiuyuan was probably the most popular male character in China. People liked his design and gameplay, but due to his niche role, he had no real value in the meta upon release. He wasn't a major upgrade over the Lupa mono-Fusion team, he was a sub-DPS that didn't deal much damage, and right after him came another highly anticipated character: Chisa. He was also placed in Phase 2, and his story felt more like a recap than anything else. All of that contributed to his flop.
Based on all this, I think Kuro should realize that everyone wants characters with cool designs, fun gameplay, strong competitiveness, and proper banner placement. Not male characters created to appeal to a very specific audience while being treated as secondary in the story.
Just look at how cool Hiyuki's gameplay is. Very few male characters can boast that level of spectacle.
The worst part is that Kuro sabotages them not only through resistance issues, but also by placing them right before or after highly anticipated banners.
For Jingran to succeed, he needs all five factors, but banner placement is especially important. If you put Jingran after Qingxiao—a character that will obviously be treated with great care by the developers—and then follow him with Hsin, it becomes much more tempting to skip him.
Being in Phase 2 doesn't help either, since that's generally the part of a patch that gets the least amount of hype in gacha games.
As expected, Chisa's glory days are over with Hiyuki. From what I've seen, Suisui takes her place. The gap is small, much like Lucilla in the Echo team, but it's still noticeable. To everyone who thought Chisa would stay in this team, I hope you're enjoying your dose of copium and salt!
Who do you think should be prioritized for an S3 Hiyuki? Keep in mind that Hiyuki's S3 allows her to access all of her passives with just one Havoc or Glacio DoT character.
I'm not gonna lie, I feel like Lucilla brings much more to the table with her ATK% bonus and the resistance shred, which is really valuable.
Chisa honestly seems pretty mid to me. Sure, she strengthens DoTs, but by how much exactly? And her 8% DEF shred feels rather insignificant, especially if the characters in that team don't have DEF shred on their weapons.
For sustain, I'd honestly rather run Shorekeeper or Mornye (especially if Mornye is S1).
It also seems like Suisui will be a Glacio DoT character. Could she end up replacing Chisa?
And if Yangyang ends up being a Havoc DoT unit, she'll naturally be paired with Hiyuki first anyway.
What do you guys think?
P.S: This mainly applies to players who don't have enough Astrites. If you already have enough saved up, then none of these precautions really concern you.
Be aware that this rule affects the number of pulls on both the limited character banners and the weapon banners. Pulling on any banner outside of the collab banners will not make any difference.
Wait until you've claimed all the login rewards and cleared out the event shops, as they should provide dedicated pulls. It would be a waste to obtain the characters without actually using those pulls, especially since they won't be converted after Version 3.4.
Prioritize the weapon banner of the character you want with your Astrites. Pulls made on this banner also count toward the spending event, and the resources obtained from its rewards are only useful for the character banner. Make sure you can guarantee the weapon if you're interested in it.
If you're close to pity and still haven't gotten the character, favor single pulls over ten-pulls. It helps avoid wasting pulls
I'm starting to get tired of these self-proclaimed analysts lecturing everyone and telling us whether we should skip the collab or not. You may be meta slaves, but not everyone plays a game purely for the meta. People don't pull characters just because they're strong, but also because they genuinely like them.
Going by your logic, everyone should have pulled Sigrika since she's one of the best DPS characters in the game. Yet I remember many of you complaining about her power when she released, and plenty of people skipped her. So stop acting like you know what's best for everyone and let fans enjoy the game however they want.
In what way is this collab "bait"? Performance-wise? Even then, its value will also carry over to the Matrix. Here's the biggest hypocrisy among gacha players: when an unpopular character is powerful, they complain about powercreep, but when that same increase in power benefits a popular character, suddenly they're happy with it.
Rebecca brings tremendous value to our existing characters. Lucy isn't dependent on her signature weapon. And 160 pulls for a duplicate is still achievable. For fans and newcomers, this team is still cheaper than today's premium teams while offering very respectable performance.
I see a lot of pessimistic takes regarding Lucy's performance, even though she's a good character. She may not be on the level of Sigrika, Luuk, or Aemeath, but is that really a problem? No.
I fully intend to go for S6 Lucy because I love the character, and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is one of my favorite anime. Why worry so much about the meta? If you love a character, that's worth more than playing a strong character you don't even like.
I'm one of those people who pulled S3 Qiuyuan when everyone was trashing him for his supposedly terrible damage, and yet, to this day, I can still crush every piece of content in the game solo.
Kuro Games isn't HoYoverse. So far, every character you've invested in remains playable. If you truly love a character, you'll find a way to bring them to the top no matter what. The only real differences are damage numbers and comfort.
Lucy is also capable of applying debuffs to enemies, which makes her versatile even without being overpowered, and that's more than enough.
So, Mornye is the issue that's preventing Lucy's team from performing at its full potential.
Lucy doesn't have access to the 40% debuff that Mornye provides. That problem apparently gets solved with Mornye S1. Notice how much Mornye S1 changes things, pushing the team's DPR up to 2 million.
The problem isn't Lucy herself—it's actually her teammates
Honestly, I don’t understand this drama about pulls. I swear I usually side with you guys, but this is just beyond me and I find it absurd to blame Kuro Games. I even see some people calling this the worst collab just because of that. For those complaining, because I really don’t think normal players would see this as an issue:
1 - The collab was announced a year ago. Before converting anything, you wait for the livestream to see whether the resources are the same or not.
2 - You had absolutely no advantage in converting anyway, since from the start of the game there have been two different currencies. Let’s say you convert everything into Radiant Tides — how are you supposed to get the resources for weapons then? So comparisons with other games make even less sense. If you take HSR as an example, they use the same currency for both characters and light cones. Wuwa was never like that. If you see a problem here, it’s just because you didn’t think it through. Funny enough, even PGR fans warned us about this last year, and it wasn’t just them — many content creators did too.
3 - A collab means banner rules that can be special. This is something new for the game. Did you think you could use your Corals? Again, nothing ever guaranteed that the rules would be the same. If a collab is teased early, it’s usually for a reason — it’s not like you weren’t aware it was coming this year. Kuro isn’t your friend. A company will always try to make money, especially for a collab like Cyberpunk, which is unprecedented. The IP has only had one collab so far, and it’s not a very strong franchise in Asia.
The same arguments apply to people complaining about the 50/50 or the shortened patch duration.
Let me remind you that we are getting Rebecca for free, a character CDPROJEKT cares about a lot. The gameplay is amazing, and instead of pulling for both Lucy and Rebecca, you only need to worry about Lucy in the end. If you’re complaining about the 50/50 or the lack of discounts, you only have your own naivety to blame. Just because PGR did it doesn’t mean Wuwa will too.
If you wanted these collab characters, you should have made sacrifices — especially since many people also wanted David (that’s where the hypocrisy is). You should have had enough Astrites.
I think many people are so “brainwashed” into thinking Kuro Games can’t act like a company. Wuwa is not a charity. If the collab is a commercial failure, they won’t be able to bring better collabs in the future. Developers need to think about players, and players need to think about developers in return. It might be hard to hear, but this game isn’t alive because of F2P players. I think many have forgotten how many pulls we got since 3.0, and they also forget that a new region is coming soon.
Last beta tomorrow.
Do you have expectations for lucilla ?
New beta tomorrow
Do you have any expectations for tomorrow's changes?
It’s time to seriously talk about this. In Wuwa Hiyuki’s team, Chisa’s contribution doesn’t even come close to Lynae’s. That already implies Chisa is still the replaceable slot in the team.
According to the leaks, the upcoming Havoc characters will likely focus on DoT mechanics, which would fit well with the arrival of Yangyang SP. For players who invested into Hiyuki, especially S3 Hiyuki, Lucilla remains far more valuable overall. People seem to underestimate her ability to reduce enemies’ Glacio resistance. Chisa only exists in that team mainly for stack generation.
For a Lucilla main DPS, Chisa still has clear importance, but for Hiyuki she’s ultimately more of a secondary piece. I’m honestly starting to lose my mind seeing some people claim that, at high investment levels for Hiyuki, Chisa is somehow more important.
When I say Qiuyuan might be the most complex and fun character to play, people think I’m crazy
