Clarifying SkyWest A&P Palm Springs Opening vs. Reality

This is the second time I have applied to SkyWest Airlines within five months. In April, after completing the background check and on-demand interview, I was informed that there were no positions available in Palm Springs and was instead offered a location in Utah, which led me to withdraw.

Three weeks ago, I applied again for the same position. I have completed a new background check and another on-demand interview. However, a representative who recruits from my school indicated that there are no openings in Palm Springs. Despite this, the company’s job postings continue to list Palm Springs as an available location.

My question is: Is there truly a Palm Springs opening, or is it possible that applications are being redirected to other locations, as was my previous experience? I would appreciate insights from anyone familiar with this process.

Skywest Airlines A&P mechanic pay and premiums question

I just want some clarification about the current base pay in Skywest Airlines in Palm Springs, also how much do they add for the night differential or premiums they talk about. As an entry level A&P I am pretty sure I will be sent to nights. Thank you.

Best First Job Experience for AMT in SoCal—Aiming for the Airlines

Hey everyone! I’m a recent A&P graduate based in the Los Angeles area, and I’m planning for a future in airline maintenance. I’d love to know: What first job experience in Southern California helped you most when transitioning into the airlines? I’m considering roles like an aircraft mechanic position at a company like General Atomics or working as an avionics technician for Business Jets. Just to be clear, I’m staying local in SoCal—no out-of-state moves! What path do you think builds the best airline-ready experience in those first couple of years?

Thanks so much for your input!
