Mercor - SPL role help!
Hey guys! Would love your advice.
Very lucky to have just graduated from a T10 school this month and honestly stuck between two very different options right now and how to best apply myself moving forward.
One is a more traditional expert-network / client services type role with clearer structure and probably better work-life balance. The other is Mercor for an SPL role, which from the outside seems way more intense, ambiguous, and honestly kind of insane, but also potentially way more exciting.
I genuinely want to challenge myself coming out of college and don’t really want to coast into something overly corporate or repetitive, which is what draws me toward Mercor. The people seem super sharp and the pace seems unreal. But at the same time, I keep hearing stories about the hours and culture and I’m trying to figure out what’s actually sustainable versus what just sounds cool when you’re 22 and ambitious.
For people who’ve worked there or know people there, what’s the reality of the SPL role day to day? Does it actually feel like you’re learning/building a lot, or is the intensity overhyped? And long term, did it end up being worth it?
