Advice for Dawn Phenomenon?
I failed metformin therapy, tried for six weeks, will see my doc next month. In the meantime, any ideas to lower FBS? My first morning glucose is usually the highest of my day, 150. I tried meat protein before bedtime, I tried peanut butter.

Urinary Tract Infection in T2D
💊 I read about a supplement that can help lessen the frequency of UTI recurrence in diabetics. I can't remember what it was as called. Manitose? Manitol? Anyone familiar with this or am I mis-remembering? Thank you in advance! 🙂
Metformin Question
I did Rx Metformin for 60 days. Yeah, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. I really wanted it to work. I ate whole foods and low carb, intermittent fasting. I'm off the Metformin now and my glucose levels have improved. Has anyone else had this experience? I see my doc next month and will discuss this. TL:DR My glucose was higher with Metformin. I know YMMV.
Metformin Question
New on Metformin, AM & PM dose. very low carb diet. <25g per day. I knew about the side effects, seriously I dread the bathroom visits, those parts feel absolutely raw, and I'm going every few hours. 🔥. Y s I know about extended release, but I have 60 days of pills here. How long does this too frequent bowel movement last for most folks?
Somnolence
Formerly "pre-diabetic" controlled well with diet and exercise. That all changed this winter. AM fasting was 200's. I'm waiting for doctor appointment in a few weeks. I've cut my carbs down to 5 grams for each of my two daily meals and my fasting glucose is hovering at 120.
My question is this: has anyone else experienced extreme sleepiness, fatigue, etc when glucose levels normalize? Could it be a side affect of insulin production?
