So far all I have is:

Impact driver and charger. Kneepads. Tape measure and Exacto blades, two multibit screwdrivers, side cutters, wire strippers, knipex lock jaws. Prybars, hammer and mallet are also tagging along.

Green hand general laborer, tips for getting in shape for the job?

Almost 40 and have jumped from 15+ years office work to general laborer for a contractor.

I'm finding myself getting winded and consequently going a slower pace than I'd like, any tips for building stamina quickly?

I'm a short guy, and older than most people starting in the industry so I've got alot to make up for - saw how slow I was with painting and how my shorter reach made for more roller marks from starting/stopping. I've been watching YouTube's nightly to try and learn more.

Seriously all tips are appreciated!

Besides getting fit and seeking extracurricular education, I've been lucky enough to be hired full time to a GC whose planning on taking me under his wing.

As I'm nearly 40, and coming out of desk jobs for the last decade, I've been honest about my apprehension of my physical state and want to make it up to him.

I truly feel like this could be my last chance at a more active job and am extremely excited to learn new skills.

I'm handy around the house and have some demo/Reno projects under my belt, but the experience being offered demands I give it my all.

Greatly appreciate any suggestions on how I can make sure I make a strong impression?
