Technically a purchase post, but I feel like it fits the spirit of the sub. Please let me know if I need to change title or text to comply.

These polishes are colors and finishes that are dupes for my DISOs for months that I found at one company during a sale instead of purchasing from three different ones, getting sucked into the free shipping trap for multiple companies.

The first shifty shimmery blue to purple would be the ultimate fomo limited time only purchase. I hate that. This one is beautiful and good enough for a color I don’t wear a whole lot of.

The second orangey-red magnetic with blue base (middle finger) is a dupe for a company that uses PVB, requires international shipping and tariffs, and is the only polish from that company I would want. This dupe is GORGEOUS, perfectly matches the blue, wears well, and means I don’t need to purchase the original.

The other two? Alright. They are good to have as the only polishes of those colors in my collection, but I don’t need to buy anything else like it. Certainly not worth any fomo I had on missing out on the original brand’s sale.

Looking forward to wearing the heck out of these.

Even though the formula is wonderful and color shifty and shiny, I was bummed at first with this polish which reads more copper than the advertising photos. Then I realised it's a perfect match for some feather earrings I own. Now I love my matching accesories.

Given the time and place that I purchased the earrings I can't be certain they were ethically gathered (I was a teenager at the time and didn't think to do better). So here's a peacock earring as a stand in and photo of Lesson's Motmot as inspirtation.

Bingo - Least Represented Color and Unexpected Topper Combo

This orange shimmer is one of my favorites.

A jelly as a topper may not be unexpected for others, but I wasn’t expected it to cover it so smoothly. So firey! So tomatoey!

The REAL unexpected topper?! A nail strengthener over the lacquer before QDTC. I normally can’t get polish to last a full day. It’s been FOUR DAYS of minimal chipping. My summer is about to get more colorful for my fingers.

Waiting on a new season while waiting on thoughtfully purchased spring sale items, and enjoying what we have in the meantime.
