Why is Selah being used as a name?
Looking at names recently, I've noticed that the two big names for influencers, and people who think it's a good idea to tell the internet their child's full name and birth date, who are Christian are Shepherd and Selah.
Shepherd does make sense to me, even though I'd never name a child that, because Jesus was compared to a shepherd and you can see what they were going for with it.
But Selah? It's a word, not a name, and of all the words, when you think about how it's used, it makes less sense. Are you supposed to have a moment of silence every time you say the poor child's name?
They always seem so proud of it and about how religious they are, giving their child a ✨Biblical name✨ but I'm confused as to why it's being chosen so often, it's becoming really popular in the US, and I even see naming subrdddits suggesting it. Although not this one obviously. Like who even thought it should be a name, who came up with the idea, and why?
