I have a Fidelity account. I've transferred money between it and my MemberOne account for years and it has always settled in 1-2 business days. I transferred money from MemberOne on April 17 and it settled within a day.

Yesterday, I finished setting all of my accounts to use autopay from my Fidelity account because this merger has not been confidence inspiring and there's no point in having a local branch right now when they're so busy that there are people parked on the grass.

I went to move money from Virginia Credit Union. NINE DAYS. They're going to hold on to my money for NINE DAYS. "But this is just a normal part of..." No, it's not. EFTs normally take 3-4 at the most.

Also how did someone who works at a high level at a financial institution decide to give every single checking account the same four digital suffix? The combination of that and how they've merged accounts has created a million tiny headaches and the fact that they didn't know it would be an issue makes me genuinely worried about how things are being run. The $100 transfer was just so I could figure out what account was linked since only the last four are displayed and the last four are the same on both checking accounts.

I knew the first hadn't settled, but honestly did not trust VACU to not cause problems with unpaid bills since it takes them this long to transfer money and wanted to get the process started ASAP.

I tried calling about another issue yesterday and died of old age before they picked up, so no answers. Their solution to their phone problem has been to stop estimating wait times and replace the hold music with an annoying nag to use their automated system.

EDIT Paycheck just hit Fidelity and it is available immediately (a day early really) so yeah not a Fidelity account issue.

P. S. For the "have you tried checking the mail once in a while" crowd: YES I READ EVERY SINGLE LETTER AND DID EVERY SINGLE THING THEY ASKED IMMEDIATELY, THANKS FOR YOUR CONCERN.
