I’m looking for some insight from anyone who has recently gone through the Trade Equivalency Assessment (TEA) process with Skilled Trades Ontario (STO).
I applied for the Cook 415A trade in the first week of April. I originally tried to use the online portal, but I ran into some technical issues that wouldn't let me submit or pay. I ended up applying via email as instructed, submitting proof of 7,000+ hours.
I recently received an automated response on April 27th stating there is a significant backlog and no defined timeline for processing. I still haven't received a payment request or an account number to get the verification process started.
A few questions for the community:
- If you applied via email recently, how long did it take to get your payment request/account number?
- For those who successfully used the portal, is the status updating any faster than the email queue?
- Has anyone had luck calling in to pay the fee over the phone to speed things up?
