Give me the best recommendations on a flat iron? Need a new one and want to get the one that does the best job on hair that tends to be frizzy.

Can anyone help to why anytime I use any hot tools like a flat iron or curling or waver my hair turns to a frizzy burned looking mess? When the salon does it it’s nice and shiny . Any recommendations on a smoothing product or something before the hot tools? Is it the heat?
