I've been carrying around 4 different credit card balances for about 2 years now and the interest is just eating me alive every month. A coworker told me she took out a personal loan to pay them all off at once and said it changed her finances completely. I looked into it and the rates do seem lower than what I'm paying on my cards right now. But I keep second guessing myself because I don't want to just move the problem somewhere else and end up in the same spot a year later.

For those who actually did this, did it help you get out for real or did you end up running the cards back up again?
