Hi !

17 M from india

I will be joining college for my undergrad this year

Due to my humanities background, very few skill based career paths are available for me ,after exploring many paths , I have decided to pursue GIS analysis

I know that this field is getting competitive but I will learn GIS along with programming, and RS , like qgis ,python , sql , arcgis etc .. I am very familiar with computing and basics of python and I have already stated learning qgis..

I will be doing a bacherlor's program in geography to complement these skills ..

I need some guidance 🙏

Hi !

I have appeared for my class 12 board exams from arts stream this year...My parents are forcing me to do a BBA and prepare for CAT / govt / banking exams but i am not interested in all that , I wanted to study anthropology but many people from this subreddit told me its not a good option..

Due to my humanities background, very few skill based career paths are available for me ,after exploring many paths , I have decided to pursue GIS ..

I know that this field is getting competitive but I will learn GIS along with programming, and RS , like qgis ,python , sql , arcgis etc .. I am very familiar with computing and basics of python and I have already stated learning qgis..

I will be doing a ba geography program to complement these skills and later apply for foreign/elite master's programs ( most probably )..

Anyone who is in these fields, I need guidance and some real world experiences and answers to some questions like - what is the real scope of gis analysis in India ? , can it be sustainable and stable ?
