Continence nurse needed, Narre Warren
Hello, I am looking for a paediatric continence nurse who has worked with children with Autism, ADHD and ARFID and delivers a neuro-affirming approach.
History:
The participant is 5 years old, global developmental delay, in a pot of aspects he is functioning as a 3 year old. He is currently being assessed for Autism and will be having an ADHD assessment following this.
(Family history or Autism, ADHD, ODD and Borderline Personality Disorder).
Constipation starting from August 2024. He has had a 2 night hospitalisation for the constipation in February 2026 where he had a NG tube, 2 enemas and a colonoscopy clean out.
Unable to successfully toilet train since the first constipation occurred in Aug 2024. He now has poor awareness and often doesn’t know if he has done something in his nappy.
He is using nappies during the day and at night time. Terrified of the toilet. Scared it will hurt. Usually had some sort of nappy rash weekly despite using sudocream as a barrier.
We have been able to slowly get the stools to a soft serve ice cream consistency.
Advised by the hospital to use Osmolax daily, but have now reduced this to every 3 days to help with the watery stools and rashes. Currently taking fibre supplements and vitamin D drops.
His diet is poor due to ARFID. His diet consists of processed foods. His main meals are toast with Vegemite. A wrap with Nutella. Two minute noodles. Plain Pasta with tomato sauce.
The only meat he eats is chicken nuggets and popcorn chicken from KFC.
