I'm looking for some advice.

I just enrolled in the FinMath Masters Program at UChicago. I know I am late to the game when it comes to landing an internship in Chicago this summer.

I plan to spend most of my time preparing for interviews and reviewing materials before starting the program in September. However, I see many full-time junior/entry positions open for firms. So I have two questions:

Is it too early for me to begin applying to these positions?
Would it benefit me to get in front of these firms now to start to look for summer 2027 internships?

I'm sure this largely depends on the firm, but I was worried that reaching out via applying now could hinder my chances of re-applying in the future.
