I'm looking for some advice.

I just enrolled in the FinMath Masters Program at UChicago. I know I am late to the game when it comes to landing an internship in Chicago this summer.

I plan to spend most of my time preparing for interviews and reviewing materials before starting the program in September. However, I see many full-time junior/entry positions open for firms. So I have two questions:

  • Is it too early for me to begin applying to these positions?
  • Would it benefit me to get in front of these firms now to start to look for summer 2027 internships?

I'm sure this largely depends on the firm, but I was worried that reaching out via applying now could hinder my chances of re-applying in the future.
