I’m looking for an illustrator for a children’s picture book project.

This is a warm, story-driven project focused on themes of calm, cooperation, and resolving conflict in a non-violent, child-friendly way.

📖 Project Overview

• Book format: 32-page children’s book
• Illustrations needed: 24 total
  • 9 double-page spreads
  • 12 single-page illustrations
• Style: Soft, expressive, child-friendly (not scary or aggressive)
• Audience: Young children (approx. 3–8 years old)

The story includes a dragon character and a diverse group of people, with a strong emphasis on emotion, storytelling, and clear visual communication.

💰 Budget

• £50–£70 per illustration
• Total will be discussed depending on experience and scope

⏱️ Timeline

• Approx. 15 weeks total
• Flexible pacing — the goal is quality over speed
• Final deadline: mid–late August

📐 Technical Requirements

• Size: 8” x 10” (portrait)
• Resolution: 300 DPI
• Color: CMYK (print-ready)
• Full bleed illustrations
• Awareness of gutter for double-page spreads

📌 Additional Notes

• This book will be self-published and printed
• Illustrator will be fully credited (including cover credit)
• I will require full usage rights for the book and its promotion
• Open to long-term collaboration — this is planned as part of a series, with increased compensation for future projects
