Practicing Engineers Network?
Is the Practicing Engineers Network a real thing? I purchased a book from them (HVAC/R depth exam) looking to get some study questions for the HVAC/R PE exam. I’m only a few chapters in, but the book seems riddled with mistakes and I’m finding myself spending more time trying to figure out how the book answer is incorrect than answering the questions myself. I’ve seen equations that don’t match engineering references, simple math equations that are just written out but solved wrong, and the use of equations with incorrect units (equation for gpm and sq in but gpm and sq ft plugged in). There are also questions where the answer is nowhere near what you calculate using the information provided, and the answer says “well the values provided must have been wrong, so assume they are x and y, which makes z the closest possible answer.” This book, coupled with not being able to find a website for this “Practicing Engineers Network” makes me wonder if this is an AI generated book being sold on Amazon.
Anyone know?
