Gym at st Thomas street

Hi everyone, I am apparently going to do my first year at uni staying at St Thomas street, I wanted to ask if any of you lovely people know if the gym can be accessed 24/7 or just when there is someone at reception, because I have read you need to swap your student card for a gym card. Also, what is your experience living there??? Love or hate??? Any advice???

Attendance at uni

Helloooo everyone, I was hoping I can get a bit more insight from you to know how strict the university is in terms of attendance.

I am particularly worried about it in medicine, as I am starting my first year this September and so far I have heard a mix of people saying that it is strict and some others saying that they want you to think it is, but at the end of the day, lots of people don't go to in person lectures and do them online in their own time, so I am not sure which take is more accurate to real academic life at uni.

I have also heard that attendance has to be above 80% in order to pass the year but I haven't been able to find anything saying this on the website but to be honest I haven't allowed that much time to look for it either. I just really wanted to see what students think about it because I want to have things clear and organise myself before starting as I might have to cancel or reorganise some things.

Thank youuuu UUUUU! Really happy to be starting at Bristol and good luck to you all :)

Joining societies

Hi everyone, I would love to know your take on joining and trying different societies. I am starting my first year this September and I definitely want to join a sports society, I would love to join the badminton society and salsa dancing mainly but I would also like to try rugby and a few others as well at some point. I am scared as it seems like too much, and I don't know how students organise around it usually, do you guys stick to one society only? Because I am thinking it would be difficult to balance with life and classes etc.

Thank youuuu!!! :)

Gym for students

Hi everyone, hopefully you can clarify some questions I have 😭 I am starting my first year at UOB this September and I wanted to know more about the gym at the university. I have only seen it from outside but it looks great. How much does it cost? What facilities does it have? Do you guys recommend it?

Access to different resources

Hellooooooo 🙃 I am starting at Bristol Uni this September, and I was wondering if the university provides students with access to resources like Microsoft office, and I am particularly curious if by having a university email you gain access to scientific magazines or journals, I am interested in the "Nature" magazine specifically. I would be really glad if someone has any info about it!
