What should I do?
I am a 59 yr old disabled woman caring solely for my 88 yr old mother. Today was her birthday so 2 out of her 3 children were here, 1 left and 1 is still here.
Earlier in the evening she fell while I was downstairs and she was with my sister upstairs. I ran up to help and asked my sister a question and she got mad at me and told me off. I said I had enough of her attitude for 1 day because she had started with me earlier and she went off on me again. I got in her face and said yeah it is you because you’ve been drinking. I said fine then you handle it and she told me to get out of the house. Now mind you this is not my house. And then she punched me in the face. I hit her back but could have knocked her out. I stopped because of my mother.
We see the lawyer for a POA (me) tomorrow. I have asked my mother to put in writing that I can stay at the house for a reasonable amount of time after her death. I don’t think she will do this for me although I lost my job due to needing to take care of her and have not been able to.
What is your advice?
