This side of paradise

This is one of my favourite episodes I feel like Kirk’s more “stick in the mud” traits are shown a bit which is always fun imo. It reminds me of shore leave and how Kirk was in that

I can’t stand what trek has become lately

I just saw a post on here and it was the most Star Wars like post I’ve ever seen 😭😭. Don’t get me wrong I like Star Wars but it just bothers me that there seems to be no room for a Star Trek show nowadays everyone wants to have lore on lore on lore and it’s honestly hard to keep up. It’s like there’s a new show every year or so that adds 100 new things about the greater universe that affects everything they can do in the future and has to be wrapped up neatly or nobody is happy. And does anybody else want to bring back physical effects? Something about all the cgi used in new shows really just takes me out of the show completely. I always liked the aesthetic of tos and I feel like it makes up half of the show really. All new shows treat everything that’s not the dialogue to just be irrelevant and expect you to just ignore it because it’s not important. Idk just a rant I’m still holding out hope Star Trek will fall into capable hands at some point and we’ll get a tos like show or I’d at least settle for voyager lmao (I’m joking voyager is great). I’m not trying to come for anyone who likes the new stuff but I think it’s just lost a lot of the original umph I guess
