I’m a Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience, currently in my 5th year of H-1B. Unfortunately, my company paused the green card process due to layoffs, and after speaking with an attorney, they advised that my profile may not currently be strong enough for NIW.

I’m now trying to explore realistic options to extend my stay in the U.S. or continue a GC path. My wife is currently on Day 1 CPT.

Would really appreciate advice from anyone who has been through a similar situation:

• Companies willing to start PERM/GC early
• H-1B extension strategies
• Whether EB-3 is still realistic in today’s market
• Any other pathways I should look into
