I tied a redside shiner streamer

I tied a redside shiner streamer

It's wet cuz I was checking what it would look like in the water, but it was made with white marabou-like feathers, some orange feather, part of a strip of rabbit fur, and some flash. It is on a size 12 streamer hook. Idk exactly what the feathers are, cuz they were part of a whiting fly tying variety pack.

I decided to tie another wooly bugger(but with a white bucktail tail), is the tail fine at this length or is there some way to shorten it without messing up the movement?

It is kinda meant to loosely resemble a redside shiner(common in almost every lake around where I usually fish). I didn't fully realise how long the tail was until I added the rest of the materials and by then it was basically finished, is it too long or is it fine? If it is too long, how would I shorten it without messing up the movement? Also, I don't own a stacker/packer(can't remember which it is called atm).

Is it normal for my flies to be ripped up from catching fish and is there anything to prevent it?

I tied up a wooly bugger last night, today I took it to a lake and caught my limit(4 trout) and had one get off right as I was pulling it to shore halfway through my fishing, and they were striking it hard(or as hard as 8 to 14 inch rainbows can). My hackle got unwrapped on the back end, and my maribou tail got a bit ripped up. I wrap pretty tight and put lots of wraps and tend to put super glue(or clear nail polish in spots where it won't be coverd since the super glue I use cures white) when securing my materials, especially feathers. Is there any way I could have prevented my fly from getting torn up? The wooly bugger seems repairable on the hackle end, so I am gonna re-wrap and secure it when I get home.

Are there any simple foamless patterns for hoppers?

I don't currently have access to foam, but really wanna make my aunt a nice hopper fly, but can't find any foamless patterns. Ideally ones that can be made with just stuff like dubbing, feather(chicken(dry hackle or any chicken feather) or turkey(specifically tail or chest feather), sili legs, silver flash, and/or bucktail.

If there aren't then any recommendations on hopper patterns, gimme a recommendation for whatever semi-good trout fly patterns y'all'd recommend with the materials I have.(I also have seed beads in a lot of colours)

How do I get hello hobby foam sheets to stop smelling?

They smell very strongly and I have put it outside in a grocery bag(to keep it from getting dirty) after completely removing it from the packaging(so it can air out a bit more), how do I get it to stop smelling weird? Do I just leave it outside a while? Or wash it? Should I throw some baking soda in with it?

I really want to use it for some projects, but the smell is not nice.

My first vs my second damsel fly imitation

The first(the smaller one) was tied in fishing forceps instead of a vise(this was only like 3 days ago though), 2nd is with an actual vise, though I may have taken a tiny bit of creative liberty with the second.

I accidentally used too big of feathers for the first one(I didn't realise I could use too big of feathers until I finished tying it) and tried to see if trimming would fix it. Tying flies takes forever(I have some issues with my fine motor skills), but they are so fun! I couldn't find white feathers at the nearest fishing store, so I just used the feathers I got got(some dry fly rooster, A, badger(no clue what the A means, but they are nice feathers)).

So, I got into fly tying, and I found a dead European Starling(invasive to the US, which is where I live) that's probably been dead a few days. I want to get the feathers to make some flies to catch some fish to eat(because the feathers are absolutely beautiful and would make some pretty flies that miggt get some fish interested).

So, I figured that this community would know how to get the feathers. Sorry if weird/rude or anything and thank you in advance for any advice.

So, I only semi remember a few lyrics

"Drifting through memories, lost in the gray. I feel myself slipping away"

It is sad and slow and sung by a woman. My sibling thought it might be 'bring me to life' but that definitely isn't it. I've tried googling every variation of it I can think of and searched YouTube. I last listened to it before 2020 and I think I remember listening to it first in like 2015 or so, but ain't sure.
