I don't understand why K-dramas are so fucking unrealistic about pregnancy. (I'm not saying ALL K-dramas are like this, but the only K-dramas I've ever watched that includes a pregnant character are SG and AOUAD, so I'm just yapping from experience)
Hee-su somehow gave birth ON HER OWN in a PUBLIC BATHROOM with literally no doctors or medical attention and just a damn kit??? There is literally no way a 17 year old teenager could do that without suffering from health problems or even potentially dying.
And one thing I've wondered about since I first watched AOUAD- Is how the hell did she even manage to hide her pregnancy for roughly 9 months straight?? Like does she not have parents? Did her parents not notice their daughter acting strange or whatever? And also, since she tried to hide her pregnancy from everyone, that implies that she had NO medical attention or doctors throughout her entire pregnancy (Unless we count the nurse- but we still can't be fully sure that the nurse actually knew Hee-su was pregnant). How did she make it that far? Being pregnant at 17 and having zero medical advice or attention is beyond dangerous both for mother and baby. You would most-likely have a miscarriage, no? I don't understand how she was completely fine or how her baby ended up healthy.
I know she's supposed to be a worldbuilding character, so none of it is supposed to matter that much. But she still had a decent amount of screen-time for us to at least remember her and wonder about her. And I also know that this is fiction, and it's not supposed to be completely realistic, but I still find it so weird. It's like the directors had no knowledge about teen pregnancy or pregnancy in general.
