Rotten Eggs Becoming More Common?

In the last 15 years, I've never once encountered rotten eggs.

Then suddenly, in last 2 weeks noticed

  1. 90% Eggs are runny (old lah), despite expiry date being 4 weeks away (Ms Pearly Kampung Eggs)

  2. 50% eggs runny and 1 explosively rotten egg (friggin traumatic experience gais) on a batch of LTK Kampung Eggs with 3w to expiry

Mum and sister also mentioned they got 2 separate cases of rotten eggs each in last 3 weeks.

Are egg suppliers cutting corners, especially after subsidy rationalisation?

Which brand has been ok so far? I've been off eggs for the last week ever since the rotten egg exploded over me when I cracked it open.
