Labour & Social Justice advocate Shannon Devine running for the NDP in Beaches-East York byelection on August 31

Shannon Devine is the confirmed candidate in BEY byelection for the NDP on August 31st. Devine previously ran for the NDP in the 2025 federal election. Conservatives have yet to announce candidate.

BEY is going to be interesting to watch this year, with it electing a new MP and Councillor.

Edit to add: Conservative candidate is Jim Syrbos. He co-owns Square Boy on the Danforth with his parents.

Missing Youth: Isaiah, 15, Wellesley Street East and Sherbourne Street area

From News Release:

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing youth.

Isaiah, 15, was last seen on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 2 p.m., in the Wellesley Street East and Sherbourne Street area.

Isaiah is described as 5'6", and dark brown hair. Isaiah was last seen wearing black shorts, black shirt, white/blue shoes, and carrying a black/blue/grey backpack.

Police are concerned for their safety.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-5100.
