Advice on lowering fasting numbers

Hi everyone! I was diagnosed a week ago at 27.5 weeks and have struggled with my fasting numbers since. Confusingly, my fasting number was normal on my 3hr test (86) but now seems to be the biggest issue.

I know it’s the number that’s hardest to control with diet and exercise but I’m looking for any lifestyle tips you have to help get it within range, if possible. My numbers have been between 97-105. Doc says she wouldn’t recommend insulin yet, but I am having some anxiety every time I see an out of range number… so seeing if there’s anything I can do to bring it down.

For bedtime snack I’ve tried peanut butter on whole wheat toast, apple and PB, Greek yogurt and PB, cheese sticks and almonds... I’m sort of at a loss and the trial and error of it all is overwhelming.

Last night I had half a yasso bar (was dying for something sweet), a cheese stick and a handful of almonds. I ended up testing after 2 hours just to see what was happening after the snack and was at 96 2hrs post. Woke up today with a 100 fasting.

I’m having my snack between 9-9:30p and testing between 7:30-7:45a.

Does my dinner meal play a part too? All my meals have been mostly well controlled except for a few slightly out of range readings (126 at 2 hours).

Is there any other info I can share that would be helpful to know?

Sorry, long post!! TIA!!
