Submitted expired task for first time- tips/ want to see if I could have done anything better.

Hi Everyone,

Had my first expired task today. A number of factors played into this:

  • It was my first time doing this kind of task
  • I had a thunderstorm blow through and had to deal with a water leak. This happened midway through, otherwise I would have just skipped/ exited.

TLDR timer was 1h30m, it took me 1h15m, I probably took 1h50m-2h to submit it.

Just seeing if there's anything else I could have done or that you'd recommend:

  • I got the "task has expired" red popup but my submission was accepted and I was able to bill.
  • I only billed for 1h15m.
  • I wrote a quick apology note at the bottom to the admin about the thunderstorm.
  • I did have to "hurry my ass up" and it was a somewhat confusing rubric system with multiple categories that overlapped a lot. That being said, I think I did as best of a job as I could given my ability to understand what was being asked of me.

Anything else I could have done/ you'd recommend doing?

I am only a few weeks into the platform with no feedback yet. I will probably give this line of tasks a break for a while, just really did not like it, but it was the only thing available right now.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Everyone,

I have been on the site for just a few days, and am reading through general advice about the platform.

I am concerned that I am taking too long with tasks. I have yet to go over the time limit, but I am completing tasks often with 5-15 minutes to spare. It seems that most people run the clock about halfway down.

Most of the time, I'm completing one task at a time, either because I need to take a break to go do something, or the next tasks have been snatched out from under me.

I know I am doing high quality work, but don't want to get "flagged" as someone abusing the clock. The only feedback I've had thus far (granted, which was good) was from an AI, so... go figure.

I read the instructions every time I start a new session, even for models I've worked on before. I've gotten slightly faster at this, but not a ton.

Is there anything I could do to reduce my time spent, or am I on the right track?

Any advice appreciated. Thank you.
