You can help give a 16-year-old pup the end she deserves

I’m posting on behalf of a longtime friend and fellow Bend local. If you spend much time on the west side, you’ve probably seen her and her dog LilyBeans out on one of their walks.

The past year has been a lot: She was illegally evicted, lost her job, and a month ago went through the kind of breakup that turns your entire world upside down. A week later LilyBeans was diagnosed with oral melanoma.

The two of them have spent the last 16 years together on road trips, adventuring, and 7 years living in a log cabin in the Bitterroot Mountains. They’ve built an incredible life together and they’re bonded in a way anyone who’s met them can feel.

Like anyone with a senior pup she knew this day would eventually come, but she didn’t plan on doing it alone. The stress and grief have taken a major toll but she’s still getting up every day focused on giving Lily the best end of life and the best goodbye possible when it’s time.

Nobody’s perfect but if you know her, you know the kind of person she is. She’s generous, shows up to help, and is one of the most genuine people you’ll ever meet. She’d be one of the first people to help someone else.

If you’re able to help every penny goes to Lily’s medical care, end of life costs, and helping my friend pay the bills so she can focus on making the time they have left as comfortable as possible.

If you’ve had the pleasure of meeting LilyBeans or if you’ve ever been lucky enough to have a dog change your life, I hope you’ll consider helping these two amazing souls through one of the hardest adventures they’ve ever been on.
