San Gimignano or Val d'Orcia?

Hi all! My husband and I are visiting Tuscany in early October for 3 nights and will have a rental car. I'm deciding between Agriturismo San Marcello (Val d'Orcia) and Agriturismo Il Segreto di Pietrafitta (near San Gimignano).

I love San Marcello, but it doesn't have a restaurant, so we'd need to drive for dinner every night. It also seems to be off the main areas and not as much to do around? Il Segreto offers half board, which is much more convenient and the accomodation looks amazing.

We're hoping to visit Pienza and the thermal baths, so staying in Val d'Orcia makes the most sense. That said, I'm happy to do the extra driving if it means staying at the better accommodation. My main question is: Is the scenery in Val d'Orcia significantly better than around San Gimignano, and worth the trade off of not having a restaurant on site? I'm leaning towards Il Segreto but don't want to miss out if Val d'Orcia is truly a must stay area. Please help!

Jetmaster Manual Fireplace

Hi all, I have a Jetmaster Universal 700SH gas fireplace, but it is manually switched, meaning I have to open the bottom of the grate to pilot the light and turn the switch on/off. Is there any way I can retrofit a manual button on the wall (builder say is a big job) or somehow add a remote to it (preferred)? Any advice is appreciated please!

I just did the colonoscopy

Hi guys, I (33F) just went through with the colonoscopy after 3-4 months of continuous rectal bleeding and mini stomachaches. I literally peed blood from the back, spraying the bowl and filled the toilet bowl crimson every BM. I’ve had haemorrhoids it for at least 6-7 years now, which prompted me to a colonoscopy 5 years ago because of some heavy bleeding episodes - came back all clear. They usually get worse after I drink alcohol. As mentioned above my haemorrhoid now bleed every BM and knowing I enter the dangerous age of increased chance of getting cancer, I booked for a colonoscopy expecting the worst, especially I used to binge alcohol on the weekends for many years straight. The result came back all clear but I do have grade 4 haemorrhoids which they did some IRC during the procedure anyway. I’ll have a check up call with dr next 2 week to check in again. 6 weeks leading up to the procedure I’ve paused all holidays plans, not buying tickets, stopped with literally planning anything for my life expecting that I am going to battle cancer because there is no way my stomach endures that much alcohol without having cancer. Now getting out of the dr clinic, I am so glad I have my life back again! Great news that I am not dying! Just a bit of review on prep, I got given an 8 for prep and the Plenvu is actually a literal hell. I thought I have high pain endurance and I like sweet lolly taste of it, but almost vomitted after the second dose, and felt like shit rest of the night. Last time I got Picoprep which is not bad at all.

Back pain from Plenvu?

I am prepping for colonoscopy tomorrow morning. I am in between dose 1 and dose 2. Is it normal to have bad back cramp on one left side? To the point it is a bit hard to move my leg.
