Ever thought about uppercutting a client?
This one guy keeps testing me. We have a meeting next week, and if he doesnt behave Im going to throw hands.
Anyone else almost came to blow with a client?

I got home around 6 pm, and my two year old son was sitting at the dinner table. I looked at him and he spoke a full sentence. I was shocked, I havent been around much, so I didnt know he could speak this well. It made me realize how much I had already missed, so I decided to quit. I dont want to miss these moments.
What was your moment that made you want to leave?
Got the feeling that I am done with big law since last Saturday. I just didn’t care about the interests of clients anymord, and I dreaded picking up my phone because it would mean that I would have to get back to work. Monday morning I opened up my laptop and stared at it. It stared back, and I didnt do anything for almost an hour. I just looked at my mailbox. Then it hit me. My great-grandparents did not cross the Atlantic for me to sit here, wasting away my life with a fuckton of money in the bank that I cannot spend, while their idea of a snack was half an orange (according to my mother).
NY born and raised. Studied here, work here, almost never left the city. Its time for something new. So now Im looking for something else. Preferably outside of law. Lets see what will happen
after four years and four months I have a definite answer: Im getting out. I billed 265 last month and I am on pace to bill 250 this month. It aint worth the squeeze.
Ill have saved enough to live comfortably at a simple job. Gonna enjoy life.
I saw Derrick Rose respond to the news about Lebron joining the 76’ers and I realize, thats how it should be. You can leave it behind
Thanks yall!
So I was running away from some thugs and I jumped into this big shot lawyer's room at a hotel holding interviews. I was able to wow him with my photographic memory. Now he made me his associate, and I am starting to fall in love with the paralegal, while another partner that looks like a beaver is suspicious of me.
What do I do know? Also, the skyline of New York keeps popping up in my head, and the drafts they force counterparties to sign are way too short, they are like one-pagers. Do I need to flag it to the firm's female senior partner that acts as if she is very tough?
It’s been real, y’all, but it’s time for me to leave.
I gave notice yesterday, and people were shocked. I’m the fifth midlevel in our litigation group to resign within about a month. Turns out that’s what happens when you allow people to scream at others whenever they’re upset.
My uncle also passed away recently, far too young. That put a lot into perspective. Life is too short to spend it somewhere you don’t want to be. I’m leaving for a boutique firm, and honestly, I’m really looking forward to it.
Almost immediately after giving notice, I got invited to a meeting with HR (who do not adore me) and two partners from our group I barely worked with. So we’ll see what that’s about. I also got a nice little jab from a senior along the lines of: “If you produce the same quality of work there, they’ll fire you within a month or two.”
As parting words: be kind to others. It’s just a job, and you only get so many summers.
I currently got 135, which is fine for me.
Update: got it down to just 1
