Umrah with only Makkah (for 5 days)

Salaam everyone,

My wife and I are really hoping to visit Makkah for Umrah next March. Unfortunately, because of annual leave and PTO, we can only manage around 5 full days.

We would also love to visit Madinah, but we’re worried that trying to fit both Makkah and Madinah into 5 days might make the trip too rushed.

I had a few questions:
- Is it permissible to perform Umrah without visiting Madinah?
- From your experience, is 5 full days enough for Umrah?
- Would you recommend focusing only on Makkah this time and visiting Madinah another time?

In an ideal world, we would love to have 2 weeks, but unfortunately, we don’t have the financial flexibility or annual leave to make that possible right now.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has done Umrah with a similar amount of time.

JazakAllah khair!

Remotely Working in Indonesia

Hello,

I’m hoping to get some insight into remote working in Indonesia, specifically in either Bali or Jakarta.
My wife and I are considering an extended stay in Indonesia, during which I would continue working remotely, either from an Airbnb or a co-working space. She would just have annual leave, I’d work… (totally cool with me).

I have a couple of questions that I’m hoping someone with first-hand experience can help answer:

  1. How reliable is the internet in Bali and Jakarta for full-time remote work, including video calls and meetings?

  2. Are there any recommended areas, co-working spaces, or neighbourhoods that are particularly popular with remote workers and digital nomads?

3)Has anyone had experience balancing remote work while staying in Indonesia for several months, and if so, is there anything you wish you had known beforehand?

  1. Any advice, recommendations, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Received a DBS email but no login details — how do I find the notification or application number?

Hi all,

I’ve received an email from DBS as part of a background check for a new job I’m starting. It says I’ve received a notification, but I don’t have any login details for an account linked to this email address.
I also tried creating an account, but it didn’t show any notifications.

Does anyone know where I can find the account or my application number?

Thanks in advance.
