Angst by Helene Cisoux

Has anyone here read this book written in 1977? It is the mother-daughter-relationship version of Beau is Afraid! Curious if anyone else out there had made this connection?

Guinea pig FNA

5.5yo MI Guinea pig presenting for chronic progressive weight loss, conjunctivitis, and hyporexia over past 4-months. Acute submandibular SQ mass effect- firm, bi-lobed, and unfixed. Normal TPR and auscultation. Radiographs pending.

After sedation with alfaxalone, performed FNA with 22g needle. Diff-Quik stain. Any thoughts? Thinking lymphoma most likely. Potentially thyroid carcinoma?

How do you confront or honor your younger self, who would have been repulsed by slow living?

Up until I (35F) was 30, my life was very chaotic. I’ve been to therapy and love the little life I’ve created for myself. However, there is still a nagging teenager in my head who thinks that I’m a boring sellout, a basic middle aged lady. That voice disrupts my peaceful moments and I feel guilty for not honoring my ambitious and hopeful younger self.

Does anyone else wrestle with their younger self who envisioned a much more exciting future? Can anyone offer an antidote or a fresh perspective?
