What is the Educational Medium for Philosophy?

Hello!

I am a current college student considering a minor in philosophy. This would be my second minor, so it is purely for personal education and interest.

I have noticed recently within my other studies that there are certain mediums that educational routes seem to take. I am wondering (hopefully from a professor, or someone who studies philosophy), what is that medium for Philosophy?

For some context, I am more clearly asking: How do philosophers communicate? For example, within my other disciplines, I have noticed certain things in the way they interact with themselves.

In my music industry major, there has been much more "business focused" interaction: LinkedIn, networking, learning about legal aspects of music output. It is the main medium of communication throughout the industry -- business.

In my economics minor, I have realized how much of the discipline is math. Statistics, industry models, and computing outcomes. Pretty much everything stems from an equation or graph.

So, to restate my question, what is the version of this for Philosophy? Is it simply conversation? From what I've gathered from my (very little) philosophical education, the main medium of exchanging ideas is a "higher/ matured conversation" in which you do your best to disregard bias. How accurate is this? I would love to get some feedback, as it will effect my choice in how I pursue my education.

Thank you!
