Is it normal for some of the brass to not come out during rebuild? I have four pieces of brass left in the first of four carbs. There seems to be no easy way to remove them, and I don't think they come with replacements in my kit. Should I leave them alone, or really go at them? I don't want to damage them obviously.

Hey, have been trying to track down a luggage rack that fits my 83 nighthawk. I finally found one, but it's rusted pretty bad?

I've used steel wool and simichrome to remove most of the easy stuff, and have gotten down to this. Looks pretty pitted right?

Is this piece trash? Or would you use it as? Feels strong enough. Is there any hope of removing more of it and preventing more from occurring?
