Project Title setup on KCC

I recently got a Kobo Clara Colour and have finally got everything set up to my liking, and I took a lot of inspiration from setups I saw on here, so I thought I'd share mine!

  • File browser is of course Project Title, which I have used and loved for a while, but is even more beautiful on a colour screen. Along with this patch to browse by metadata.
  • I also have the reading insights patch for stats. I'm currently running the B&W version; there's a colour version here but I just haven't got around to messing with that and setting up colours.
  • I also followed instructions in the reading insights thread to use the patch to replace one of Project Title buttons and set it to show the insights
  • In the reader, I have Bookends which I really love, honestly makes the actual reading experience so much nicer for me!
  • And then finally customisable sleep screen to round it out :)

Thank you to everyone in this community—the amount and quality of resources and help available is so incredible, and I've learnt lots in the process! Also, if anyone is considering making the jump from one jailbroken device to another, it was a super smooth process to switch from koreader on my (fairly old) kindle to the kobo and I didn't lose any settings or presets.

Books in folder on device not showing up as 'on device'

Hello!

I've just moved e-readers from a Kindle to a Kobo, and I've run into a problem.
When I transferred devices, I'd originally moved all my ebooks to a folder in the Kobo's root directory (sort of like how they are stored in documents on Kindle). I also configured my device via Calibre to send books to that folder.

When I plugged the device in, however, those books didn't show up as on device. I thought that might be because Calibre was struggling to match the files, so I deleted all the files from the Kobo, transferred them via Calibre this time, and they all showed up in the folder + as "on device" on Calibre.

But upon disconnecting and reconnecting the Kobo, or restarting Calibre, the same problem occurs.

Does anyone know what the issue could be? Is there a way to force Calibre to send books to a specific folder and to scan that folder? I've googled and checked here and on MobileRead, but to no success!

Thanks! :)

Hi folks!

I’ve found so many great books through this sub, so wanted to ask if anyone had recs for books with specifically characters who are physically disabled or chronically ill.
Most of what I’ve read with this rep is contemporary romance, usually straight, so I’d really love any genre fiction recommendations! Doesn’t even have to be *that* queer, but that would definitely be a plus.

I’ve read and didn’t love Iron Widow, but I did adore The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi which… kind of sort of fits the bill? Also read and really enjoyed Lycanthropy and Other Chronic Illnesses, which is exactly what it says on the tin.

Thank you!
