The only foster I have ever lost🥺😭(Story in comment)

This is Madison. She was an energetic, playful, super loving 7 week old lab cross. She had a horrible start to life and we had the honour of fostering both her and her sister and showering them with love. We went out for dinner one night, both puppies were happy, playing and their regular selves. We arrived home a little over an hour later to find Madison unresponsive in a pile of feces, urine and vomit. She was immediately rushed to the vet but unfortunately passed away shortly after arriving. The only possible cause the vet could think of was poisoning. Apparently someone or multiple people in our town had been throwing poisoned meats and treats into random yards. Our house was always kept clean and safe for them. They were never outside without someone watching them very closely and our yard only had grass. No plants, no mushrooms, no chemicals or fertilizers used. Myself, husband and daughter spent a few hours on our hands and knees looking for anything in the yard that could have caused this and found nothing. I tore the house apart looking for anything and again found nothing. I still don’t understand why this happened and still feel absolutely horrible. She was supposed to be safe with us but instead she ended up dying. I can’t help but think if I didn’t foster her, she would still be alive living in her forever home and living the life she deserved😞
