What are the odds of getting hired as a high school teacher if I don’t coach

So I’m currently working on getting my certification for teaching 7-12 science. I was just wondering how much harder is it to get hired when you don’t coach? I see a lot of positions near my area having opening for teachers but requires coaching. Is this the same throughout the state or more like isolated cases? I’m hoping to teach Biology or chem subjects.

So I’m currently in school for a bachelor’s degree in education for 7-12 science certification. I’m also working on adding Biology as my minor since I would only need one additional class to complete it. I’m not great with sports so I don’t have any classes or experience for coaching. I’m starting my EPP classes this summer and observations this upcoming fall semester. What advice would you give someone in my situation or yourself back when you were about to start your EPP classes? What major trends or drawbacks have you guys experienced after graduating or completing your program?
