That line in the Season 2 Finale of Born Again
"I used to be a lawyer."
Something about that line broke me. I don't know if I'm misinterpretting it but it felt to me like not only was Matt resigning from his law career, but he was also cutting his final tether to Foggy.
I don't know, I interpret this season as Matt honestly being unable to move forward being a lawyer without Foggy. Even if the Mayor Fisk storyline had been resolved without Matt revealing himself to the public as Daredevil; once Fisk gets impeached, no longer mayor, imprisoned or whatever.... I don't know if Matt honestly sees a reason going back to the lawyer life full-time without Foggy, as Foggy was central in Matt's belief in the law.
I don't know if I'm making sense but when Matt got arrested, I don't think he cared not being a lawyer anymore. 'Cause Foggy's gone anyway.
