I posted a negative Google review about a local business after a bad experience. I did not use abusive language I only described what happened and gave a low rating.

A few days laterthe owner contacted me demanding I delete the review immediately. Now I’ve received a legal notice claiming defamation and asking for compensation unless I remove the review and apologize publicly.

I genuinely posted the review based on my experience and I have bills, screenshots, and chat records related to the incident.

Can someone actually face legal consequences in India for posting a negative Google review? How serious are these legal notices usually and should I reply through a lawyer?
