Hi everyone, I recently found this Reddit and it would be great to receive more information.

I was diagnosed with kidney stones about 5 days ago, after a long period of pain that led me to the emergency room. My country's healthcare system is a bit different from the US (I'm from Brazil) so the diagnosis was given by a general surgeon who was on duty that day. He told me that he saw a stone at the CT Scan so my pain was probably caused by it but since he's not a specialist, he didn't explain the location or size of the stone (to be honest, he didn't even explain exactly where the stone was located). he just prescribed some pain medication and told me to see a specialist.

Since I can't afford a doctor's appointment right now, I'm waiting for a free urologist appointment. even though I feel a little feverish since last night (I don't know if that's normal but unfortunately, if I go to the emergency room just for that, especially since I don't have more information about the kidney stone, they won't treat me), the pain has definitely improved.

My main question is about one of the medication he prescribed, called Flomax: How long does treatment with it usually last? He prescribed that I take it for 5 days. usually that is enough time to eliminate the stone ? I also would like to know if it's common having a low fever. I apologize for any grammatical errors and if this type of advice isn't allowed here, I'm just genuinely confused and trying to gather more information to protect myself in case of an emergency so any advice would be really great.
