Why do people romanticize this dynamic?

Saw this on Instagram today and wanted to know if anyone else feels weird about this kind of dynamic being normalized. I’ve personally never understood why this aesthetic is considered romantic. What’s your opinion on it?

Edit: Since a lot of people are misunderstanding the post ; no, I’m NOT talking about height differences. Tall guy + short girl relationships are completely normal. I’m talking about the way some of these aesthetics portray women as overly childlike/helpless and romanticize that dynamic.

I’d give anything to read this series again for the first time

idk why this series is so underrated. I swear I found it randomly while scrolling Pinterest and giving it a try was genuinely one of the best decisions ever. You know how people say some stories just find you? This was one of them.

I hate how underrated it is, but at the same time I’m kinda grateful for it because I don’t want it to become just another BookTok hype book (is that weird? 😭)

Anyways, this series, the characters, the writing, the story… everything felt perfect to me. The way he loved her was so soft and gentle that it actually hurt because love like that barely exists in real life anymore.

The letters, the yearning, the comfort they found in each other even during a war, everything felt so emotional and beautiful. The atmosphere of this series was somehow both cozy and heartbreaking at the same time. And Rebecca Ross’s writing?? literally poetry. Some lines genuinely felt stitched into my heart.

Roman and Iris became one of my favorite fictional couples because their love never felt forced or dramatic just for the sake of it. It felt loyal, comforting, quiet, and deeply human.

So if you randomly come across this post, take it as your sign to read Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows.

And honestly? I’d give anything to read this series again for the first time.
