215/50/18s, quiet but sporty analysis paralysis
Hey,
I'm stuck in analysis paralysis searching for replacement for my trusty summer 215/50/18 Toyo Proxes R40. They lasted me solid 10 years and I'd have grabbed an identical copy, it just doesn't really exist anymore - also found info Toyo have gone downhill in the past couple of years. So that's a no. They are quiet enough, i can feel the road through them and outside of actual ice, i never had grip issues.
Grip, especially wet grip is important. Loudness is very important too. I also like feeling the road. And i push the car, given a chance.
In winter, I use Pirellis 215/60/16 SotoZero3, i like their general performance but absolutely hate how noisy they are and even brief highway trips are a pain. Luckily i rarely do long trips in winter.
Options (prices are very similar):
*Pirelli Cinturato C3 - these seem decent grip wise, but come up as very loud in all reviews
*Continental UltraContact NXT - very few reviews. However silly, I'm mildly afraid of tires made of garbage, with all advert materials focused on how eco friendly they are.
*Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric - these seemed to be a decent choice, but this very subreddit terrified me of them with "feels like jelly" comments.
*Pirelli Powergy 2 - there's very little I can find about them, apart from suggestion that they are lower class than Cinturato and price is nearly identical.
*Continental PremiumContact 7 - they seem similar to Cinturato C3 in performance - including loudness <.<
*Bridgestone Turanza 6 - know nothing about these
*Goodyear Efficentgrip Performance 2 - these appear to come a bit lower on wet performance?
*Michelin Primacy 5 - again found some "feels like jelly" opinions
Any help?
