I'll preface this by saying I'm far from done. But after seeing and loving so many builds here, I finally built up enough motivation to dive in and build a deck. I decided to build a software layer into it, powered by AI-fueled characters with distinct personalities. That has turned into a full-blown netrunning game. Though my build isn't nearly complete, I've tested most of the hardware integration and it works great sprawled out across my desk.

I've been going back to document some of the design decisions I've made, mostly just in the realm of software. I'm gearing up to put some hours into the physical design (which I'll also document) but thought it was worth sharing a dump of my progress to get feedback and maybe some new ideas.

*EDIT* I imagine my use of AI will be a turn-off for a lot of folks. Though the experience is much better using one of the major cloud LLMs, I'm also building in full support for local models. It can run completely self-contained on the Pi (though at a significant performance hit), AI features and all. I'll eventually opensource the game, and folks can run it on more capable machines that can support better local models.
