Plant rotted (fungus) during long shipping. Help
What it looks like after trimming excess rotted leaves. That's how it looks like after 2 days.
So I bought some exotic strawberries that took way too long on shipping and they are rotted pretty bad. So it got quite a bit of mold.
So far:
- I cut off damage/rotted leaves. Thrashed dead crowns.
- I spray it with copper fungicide on whole plant, left it for 20mins. Then I rinsed it with water so it doesn't leave residue.
- then repotted in the cardboard as a quarantine kinda. stop spread fungi? They seem okay and might survive.
Right now am thinking since it has stabilize (last photo looks like it got life in them). I am planning to
- uproot them and move them again to 18oz cups to start rooting and recover. Before actually putting them into my 2gallon pots.
- uprooting allows me to inspect them again and trim off excess molded roots, check for any mold left. Spreading or future issues?
- Just read I can do 1:3 ratio of hydrogen peroxide to treat rotted roots.
Is this a good idea? Should I just trashed them all before they spread to my nice tomato garden?
Any help/suggestion would be much appreciated it!
