charging 5 dollar a month for a micro saas is just not worth, switch to one time payments or higher tiers early

when we launched our first side tool we priced it at 5 dollars a month thinking cheap pricing would make it an easy buy for users. But it turned out 5 dollar a month brought in the kinda the absolute worst type of customers. people paying five bucks were sending ten support tickets in a week, complaining about tiny UI bugs, and churning after two months anyway, which meant our lifetime value per user was like 10 dollars , after credit card processing fees and customer support time, we were literally losing money on every signup. we completely scrapped this 5$ a monthly tier and changed it to a flat $29 one time payment for lifetime access, with an option for an annual sub later. conversion rates actually went up because I think people prefer a clean one off purchase for small utility tools instead of adding another recurring subscription to their credit card statement I mean this is what I've noticed and think too if u see this as a third person so yeah. it gave us enough upfront cash to cover basic directory listings on platforms like scrolllaunch, run small experiments, and keep our server costs paid for months ahead. if you are launching a simple micro saas utility, my suggestion would be this only to don't price it at $5 a month out of fear. charge a fair one time price or push your monthly price to $19 20$ minimum so you actually have margin to keep the project alive. how are you pricing your micro saas right now do tell me I'll see if I can give you suggestions
