I've noticed that in popular "time travel to the distant past" type questions, such questions tend to assume you're a man, which is fine, but as a history-obsessed woman, it got me curious about how I could fare, as one's sex did very often matter quite a bit.

Like, my husband would likely have a far different experience than me. Let's say I'm transported to early Edo period Japan (chosen because I'm very Japanese and would assumedly be out of place in Europe during the same period). I presume I'd have a harder time than my husband in the same circumstance, but I'm curious how our feasible options would differ.
