Success stories??

I'm really considering switching from nexplanon to a copper IUD. I've been on nexplanon for 12 years (replaced 3 times) and i actually dont notice many side effects. But the constant flow of hormones can't be beneficial.

Reading all the stories on here has me terrified. I've never had kids but I've been through some gnarly medical procedures, the insertion doesnt scare me.

I'm a very active person on a weight loss journey. Will it affect that? Will i be debilitated for the entire week of my period?

Any positive stories would be appreciated!

Advice on IUD

I have had Nexplanon for 10 years (replaced twice) and its coming up on its expiration date

I have no bad side affects; no weight gain, I do get my cycle occasionally and I've never had a pregnancy scare. No mood swings or headaches or any of the things. I'm a fairly healthy person.

Despite that, the older I get, the more I don't love the idea of having hormones pumped through my bloodstream.

I'm thinking of going the copper IUD route but I am pretty scared. I've never had kids and I hear it can be incredibly painful. Especially if inserted wrong.

I would have to get it done at planned parenthood because I don't have insurance. I worry that because they're a budget clinic, they may not insert it correctly? Idk if thats far fetched or not.

Any advice would be appreciated. Not sure if I'm making the right choice.
