Can bats yank hair?
I was running this evening on a trail outside of town around 6:30 PM (2 hours before sunset) surrounded by fields and trees in the countryside. All of the sudden I felt a grasp and a strong yank to the hair on my head. It hurt pretty badly in the moment for about 4-5 minutes after. I turned around and saw (what I’m 99% sure was) a bird flying away. Being the hypochondriac I am has caused me to wonder: “did I see a bird or was it actually a bat??” After showering a couple hours later, I had my wife look at my head, and she did notice 3-4 marks where I had been (grabbed? Clawed?) Can someone please talk me off the ledge and give me peace of mind that this was almost certainty a bird and not a bat? Do bats have the capabilities to pull that hard on something? I did also notice other birds swooping around on my run for context too. Anyway, I hope this is the right place to ask and thanks for your time!
