My 2002 Apollo hot tub still works - is that a miracle?
Inherited this hot tub (5-6 seats?) from previous home owners when we bought the house in 2012. I used it 4-5 times (never had a hot tub), but that's it. It's sat unused (and empty) for last 13 years. Husband has bad arthritis and back pain and he's wants to try it to see if it helps him.
He'd never (and I mean never) use a hob tub otherwise, so I'm wondering about steps to at least get it going again so he can try it. If it does help him, we'd likely get a newer (and much smaller) one that takes less electricity (it has a dedicated 220V connection).
I filled it up with water just above the jets and turned it on. It seems to work and didn't blow out a bunch of nastiness, but obviously, it needs to be well cleaned for or test use. It's been covered and sits under a gazebo. We are in PNW so not wild weather.
Besides a new filter, what should I do to prepare it?
