I just finally purchased Let's Go, Eevee! For myself and my kids...
And was met with incredible disappointment. I have a standard Switch, but I don't have Joy-Cons nor the Poke Ball accessory as I bought the game second hand.
My controller is a 3rd party JC200, and it works perfectly well with other games, but it won't connect at all with Let's Go Eevee, even to the point where I can't hit the Home button to back out of it, I have to restart the entire console. I don't want to dish out $90 for Joy-Cons that'll start drifting in 3 months, but at the same time, my kids and I were looking forward to playing this one for the first time.
Are there any workarounds that anyone has figured out? I can't make the Switch think this controller is a Joy-Con and tbh I can't understand why it would even need one - my sister and her kid have the Switch Lite and Let's Go Pikachu and it plays the game just fine. Why can't it work with a regular controller on the regular Switch? I can maybe understand it needing to be played thay way docked, but handheld shouldn't make a difference.
If anyone has any advice, please let me know, otherwise it's gonna be taking it back and getting a different one altogether, and it sucks disappointing my kid like that.
